This policy explains what personal information VUAE collects through vuae.ae, why we use it and the choices you have. VUAE is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy question, email hello@vuae.ae.
Information we collect
Your account
When you create a warranty account we collect your email address and password, which we store only in hashed form. You can also add your name, phone number and location to your profile.
Warranty registrations
When you register a product we collect the product name, serial number, purchase date and retailer, and we keep a record of the warranty status.
Digital Passport
When a bike's NFC Digital Passport is activated we store the bike's serial number, the owner's name, email address and phone number, and the activation date.
Messages and partnership applications
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, subject and message. When you apply for a partnership we collect your name, email address, social media platform, handle and follower range, and your reasons for applying. Our staff can view these applications.
Technical information
Like most websites, our servers process technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. We use it to run the site, keep it secure and limit abuse, such as repeated login attempts.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account, including sending sign-in and verification codes.
- To register, check and support your warranty and service entitlements.
- To confirm that a VUAE bike is authentic and record who owns it.
- To answer your messages and review partnership applications.
- To protect the site, our customers and our business, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
What other people can see
A bike's Digital Passport page can be opened by anyone who scans its NFC tag or has its link. Once the passport is activated, that page shows the bike's model and colour, a partly hidden serial number and the owner's first name. It does not show the owner's email address or phone number.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to run our service:
- Service providers that host the website and handle our email.
- Content providers. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and icons from Cloudflare's cdnjs service, so those providers receive your IP address when your browser requests them.
- Authorities or advisers where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Bikes are sold through London Bikes at londonbikes.ae. When you follow a link to buy, that website handles your order and its own privacy terms apply.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UAE.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential cookie, vuae_session, to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days, or until you log out. We also store small items in your browser, to save site files for faster loading, remember a bike passport you have viewed and limit repeated password attempts. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep account, warranty and ownership records for as long as your account is active and as long as they are needed for warranty support or legal purposes. We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with them and keep related records. You can ask us to delete your account from your account settings or by email.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, including the UAE's personal data law, you may have the right to access your information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy of it, or withdraw consent. To make a request, email hello@vuae.ae. We may need to confirm your identity first, and may keep information where the law requires it. You can also update your profile in the warranty portal.
Security
We use safeguards such as hashed passwords, encrypted connections and restricted staff access. No website can be completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you think your account is at risk, change your password and contact us.
Children
Accounts are intended for adults. A parent or guardian should register a product bought for a child. If you think a child has given us personal information, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
